Welcome Home, Little One {Charleston Newborn Session on Film}

There were so many sweet and sometimes tearful moments during this newborn session for this family in their historic Charleston home. Mom and Dad were beaming with joy that baby “C”  was finally here. After all many months preparing for his arrival – during a global pandemic, nonetheless.  The baby’s grandmother was also visiting and it was an honor to capture them together. The photo of her “booping” baby’s nose is one of my favorite grandson/grandmother images.

Choosing favorites for this blog post was too difficult, so I included all the images as they unfold in his heirloom album. Someday he can sit down with the next generation, open this book and retell his story from the very beginning.

Blog Interview
Was there anything you were nervous or worried about before your session?

I was nervous about how to prepare for the session: what if we weren’t ready when she got here, what if the baby fusses, what should we wear, how do we act, etc. However, thanks to Jody’s ‘handbook’, shared Pinterest board, reassuring phone call prior to our session and her calm, yet energetic demeanor, my worries were immediately resolved! Jody was very reassuring that if we ran into any issues, she had most likely experienced it before and it was not a problem! She is very personable and professional, especially during this time of COVID. She was constantly making sure that we were comfortable and felt safe. We greatly appreciated her going above and beyond to ensure our and the baby’s safety. It was one less thing to worry about!

What was your favorite part of the experience?

Being able to see Jody in action. She made us feel very comfortable and gave us good direction with our placements for the photos. She was able to pick out the best places in our home and yard that complimented us and gave them personal touch. The photos were phenomenal! It was wonderful to have the session at our home so that we can look back at the photos for the years to come since they have an extra special meaning.
