My goal as your photographer is to tell your story through the beauty that unfolds in front of my lens. I am honored to capture these moments that are so fleeting that they can only be collected in photographs. Moments that will be yours to keep – forever. I love telling the unique story of each person at all stages of life, from the very beginning.
As you peruse my portfolio, you will see a style that is timeless. The focus is on baby and all the beautiful nuances of their features. Poses are only where babies allow themselves to naturally fall into a deep, comfortable sleep and photos with family are captured in-the-moment rather than feeling static or contrived.
I use both digital and analog cameras (with 35mm & medium format professional film). Film provides a quality and character that is unmatched by digital cameras. Every image is carefully retouched and prepared for archival prints or albums that will last for generations.
ABOUT JODY
My journey in photography started as a pre-teen eager to document every moment. After my first child was born almost 13 years ago, I got serious and started taking classes. This baby MOVED and I was struggling to produce the images that I had in my mind’s eye with my camera. Eventually I started to use my DSLR in manual mode and taking additional courses in lighting while capturing my daughter’s milestones. The desire to dive in and improve only amplified as our family grew to 2, and then 3 children. I started taking on clients as a “side gig” to my career in academia for several years before I decided to hang up my lab coat for good and work full time in my photography business.
